eq client crashes

id love to be able to run 2 instances. i can get 1 up . second gives me your eq client crashed . please help product seems cool
using playnice 1.3 and wineq 1.0
i open playnice first . i can get 2 instances to the player screen and ten when i try toget second in no luck

Hello. When you get the crash, open up WinEQ.log found in your WinEQ folder (if you cant see the .log or .txt parts, there's 2 files that are the "Text Document" type, the top one is the log file). Copy/paste me the last 30 or so lines of the file here, and I will try to correct the problem.

I have been working very hard to ensure that it works for all, but as they say.. its hard to please everybody :)

Unfortunately that portion doesn't show the error description, which would be important in determining how to solve the problem. If that was the end of the log, right after the crash, then I may need info from the DBG.TXT (not debug.txt) file from the EQ folder. Open it after crashing and find the last instance of "Fatal error in main thread". If you can find such a line, grab me that line and the following 5-10 lines. If not, grab me the last 10 lines or so in the file.

Also, what video card is this on?

Oddly enough, someone else with a Radeon 9200 is also experiencing crash issues trying to get their second session running. I will see what I can do for you this week.

i guess i should update the drivers and if that doesnt help ill put my old video card in just for grins .. Hope u can work on it as well

Okay, I think I see the issue. EQ is set to 32-bit colors, and your desktop resolution is set to 16-bit colors. I'll make WinEQ fix the ini file, but you can fix the problem by setting your desktop resolution to 32-bit color or setting EQ to 16-bit color. :)

changed both to 16 but now it says eqplaynice cant work with this version of eq sigh lol tired goin to sleep work on it when i get back on thur night
i see potential with this program :)

Sure you didn't open testeqgame? EQPlayNice works fine, you should check the EQ patch version it reports in that error message and possibly report it here ;)

i got a wineq has detected that eq failed to load a direct 3d device i have my old video card in but it loaded without that error before. maybe cause i switched to 16 bit on eq and windows. head pounding now lol
