ran it on xp machine and * shows, just didn't show on win 98 machine.

Still not working here, i've put the max background fps at 1 and even when focus isnt on EQw I can see that the fps is obviously not at 1.
(and EQ is still sucking 70% of my cpu time)

wasnt working for me either, but once i installed winEQ 1.00 it s working, even the red indicator !!

My apologies. Windows 98/ME users will need to download EQPlayNice 1.13. Please continue to report any problems you experience
