Creating Custom Overlays

Post by Lokked » Tue Jul 08, 2014 4:43 pm

I may be using the wrong terminology, but I searched for Overlay and came up with nothing relevant. If I can call it something else, let me know. An Overlay as I speak of could be a custom MiniMap, Custom List of Character Hotkey Step Statuses, any other visual collection of IS objects.

I want to create my own overlay, similar to what's been done with previous IS Extensions (ISX plugins).

While it would make describing what I want easier, I don't want to specifically reference an ISX, as I can't think of any that wouldn't be considered hacking.

I have 1 specific question:
1. Are these overlays created strictly using IS objects & script/language? Or have they wrapped IS Objects and written these overlays in a more formal language?

And 1 "Hold Hand plx" Question (completely optional):
2. The Wiki describes "Extensions" as being an aspect of Innerspace, but gives no hint as to how they might be derived. How does one "Extend" Innerspace? Through LavishScript?

I found a link to ISXDK, so with regards to extension, I have enough information for now.

And from there I think I've found what I want (ISInterface).

Nevermind (unless this isn't what I want...)

Thanks!
