1.11 Build 5642 EQ2 says it needs Directx9c

Post by nezuld » Wed Jun 13, 2012 6:16 pm

I updated Innerspace and now when I launch EQ2 I get the error message that it needs DirectX 9c. When I run the same program directly, it runs just fine. I have openGL, Direct3d8 and direct3d9 all checked off. This did not happen until I downloaded the newer version.

Any thoughts? I tried to download the Directx9c version as stated in another message thread and it just says that i have the proper/newer version and does nothing.

Thanx

And by Checked off I mean that the red dots are there (active)... dont want to be confusing.

Ummm.... what message? I'm not sure you are getting a message that says you need DirectX 9.0c. You almost can't possibly not have DirectX 9.0c.

Historically, people who say this get a message saying that they need to run the DirectX updates from Microsoft because they are missing one from ___ date or later. 9.0c came out like 8 years ago, but there have been dozens of updates since then that don't have new letters.

You might just need to run this update: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download ... aspx?id=35

If not, I need more specific information about the message. Or a screenshot of it. :)

Yes, it really is a message that says that directx 9c is needed in a popup box. and when you say ok, closes EQ2

After further investigation the real cause of it is loading isxeq2 in prestart, when I remove that I dont get the error. I forgot about that when I was trying to figure out what was different between running through innerspace and directly.

So the issue is not innerspace. Sorry to be a bother.

Same problem

I'm having this same exact problem with Innerspace not letting EQ2 load due to needing DirectX 9.0c and kicking me...

I looked and I have no prestartup or startup stuff in my config, but it still isn't letting me in.

Any thoughts?

UPDATE: Deleted my EQ2 configuration completely from Innerspace and reloaded. Set up a new (old) configuration and I win, now not getting DirectX BS error.

I have this same issue as well. Patched EQ2, launched my ISXboxer setup and got this error message.

Tried reinstalling DX9, but installer said my DX is up to date. Downloaded the latest autoupdated binary from isxeq2.twonk.net, same result. Tried deactivating the direct X checkboxes from the configuration panel.

I've had innerspace and ISXeq2 for well over two years on this computer but never encountered this error before.

Any suggestions or ideas are welcome.

Sure... remove ISXEQ2 and it will no longer break Inner Space's ability to launch the game. For ISXEQ2 support (or lack thereof) you will need to go to their site
