WOW autofollow and key replication does not work for all too

So in wow I have dual accounts. Now if I control one of the toons it works great the 2nd toon auto follows and replicates the keys but once I switch to the second toon the same does not happen.
So Toon 1 and 2. Toon 2 follows and replicates toon 1, but when I switch to toon 2 the toon 1 just sits there and does nothing.
Yes replication is turned on.
