Repeater Regions - Multiple PC's

Post by AbyssKEQ » Fri Nov 20, 2009 8:46 am

Is this possible to do?

Atm I have 2 pcs. My main, and the slave. I have 1 toon on the main, 4 on the slave.

I setup a repeater region for "all others" on the main. You can see the transparent box come up on the slave pc.

Now comes the problem. When I try to move my mouse on the main pc to my repeater region, the mouse goes haywire. It just goes all sorts of places inside the repeater region.

Is there a better way to do this? Or is repeater regions not compatible for multiple pcs?

Thanks, for you time.

Sorry I forgot to add,

I just want to use the repeater region just for 1 session on my slave pc. Not for all 4 sessions. The only option that I see is all other's. But all other's puts it in all 4 sessions on my slave pc. Is there another way to do this?

To use a region that sends to 1 remote character, you will probably want to use an Action Target Group with that character in it. The drop-down box is populated with some default data, plus all Action Target Groups, so it will be selectable.

The reason it goes haywire is the other PC has a foreground window, and a repeater region, and therefore when the cursor is moved it's going to send its position to all others. Since it does take a small amount of time to transmit and process that information, the position it sends back might be different than where your mouse currently is, and therefore the 2 PCs are going to fight over the mouse position.

Since you only want it going to 1 window, both of these problems are easily solved. First, add the target character (the healer?) to an Action Target Group. The target selection box for the repeater region will list all Action Target Groups, so you will select that. Furthermore, you should be able to select "other (group)", and then no matter which window you are moving the mouse in, there will be no cursor feedback even if the region is synced to all windows. The "other" just means that when you're playing that window it wont send it to itself (it doesn't need to).
