I am having a bit of problem here; I apologize if this has been addressed before. I did search and couldn't find anything that seemed relevant.
I am running Vista and have the latest version of DirectX on my computer (my husband says it's required to use DirectX 10 for Vista). Of course, this makes it impossible to install DirectX 9 on my computer ... and I don't want to uninstall 10 if it will render my OS inoperable.
Is there a work around or something else I need to do to make this work for me?
Thanks.
DirectX 9 and Vista

Vista ships with DirectX 8, 9, and 10. You do not uninstall one to install another, and Inner Space is not asking you to install DirectX 9 -- you already have it. What Vista does NOT ship with, is the bi-monthly updates to DirectX. Vista came out a couple years ago but the latest update to DirectX 9 was a couple months ago. The DirectX updater will detect what versions of DirectX you have, and only install the appropriate updates. It is perfectly safe to use it on any version of Windows.

Thanks for the fast reply and I did figure this had been addressed - I just wasn't typing in the right search parameters or something.
Anyway, I did do those things, and MS tells me I have the "most recent" files. So I think cool and go back to restart InnerSpace, but it gives me the same DirectX 9 message. It's like an endless loop. So I guess I need to know what I'm doing wrong that won't let me get past this.
Thanks again!
