FPS Limiter not working for EQ1?

Post by Reverage » Tue Oct 28, 2008 5:34 pm

Hmm, I know I had this working at one point.

Anyway, under IS Configuration, FPS Limiter, I have both enabled, Foreground is set to Calculate CPU Time, and an FPS Limit of 60. Background is set to Constant CPU Time, and an FPS Limit of 30.

Whenever I switch to my 2nd EQ instance, I can see the FPS counter counting up from 2 (via FRAPS). Following my main character is extremely unreliable, I suspect because of the low FPS.

I know I had this working fine before - am I forgetting to check anything else? Did anything change on the IS side perhaps I missed in the recent patches?

FPS limiter never works well for me unless I set my CPU affinity on each of my game client windows.

Make sure you're only using 1 FPS limiter, or the effects of the limiting get combined.

For example, EQ has a FPS slider in it, make sure it is 100. Also make sure you're not using the IS FPS limiter if you're using MQ2FPS or EQPlayNice.

I *think* the default IS scripts tie each EQ instance to a different CPU (I scanned the scripts, but has been a few weeks), but appreciate the thought eqjoe, thanks, will double check that.

Hmm, yes, it's possible I messed with the EQ settings as well. I will double check those when I get home from work.

Thanks for the thoughts gents, really appreciate it.
