System Idle CPU and EQ2
Hello, seems that when I run two EQ2's that the foreground (ctrl+alt+1) doesnt take full usage of the cpu, seems to get stuck. If I check the Task Manager with the foreground eq2 (ctrl+alt+1) targetted it sits at a lower cpu then the background eq2 (ctrl+alt+2) ... It seems that this happens 'overtime playing without a reboot'.
The background eq2 starts run faster/better than the foreground.
Any suggestions?
Ive tried /affinity but the only thing that seems to help is in Task Manager set the Priority to High.
Well thx in adv.

I dont think I really explained it well so just wanted to add something.
What seems to happen is the foreground doesnt process as foreground, it acts like its background and vice-versus... the background runs smoothly >> i move if off to the side but under the foreground and when i move in the foreground it lags and the background looks smoothe
Its like the foreground - background switch ...
Gah .. I hope this made sense.. thx again in adv.

Is there a way to set it automatically? My wife will never rmeber to open the prompt and put the affinity in manually.
But, I know that when this occurs (duel core) and I split the affinity it does not help any.
Seems to happen after flipping back and forth between 2 sessions over the course of maybe 30 minutes. Then it starts to occur... again seems like the foreground process doesnt kick in one time during the alt-tab switiching, the ctlr-alt-2 window stays as foreground even though it moves to the background.

Not sure with WinEQ2. Now, if you where using InnerSpace, I would point you to this thread:

No I have these set for run time and I have verifiyed proc -list for each session.
After about 10 minutes swapping between ALT-TAB the ctrl-alt-1 session becomes unresponsive and uses only 20% CPU while the ctrl-alt-2 which is in the background is using roughly 38%.
I dont know really.
But its annoying :/
I have tried re installing and setting up IS

Ya.. I guess you would not be posting in the InnerSpace forum if you where running WinEQ2. I don't know where I got that ideabob_the_builder wrote:No I have these set for run time and I have verifiyed proc -list for each session.

I can tell you that I don't have this problem with other games like WoW or AoC. Have you tried a game other than EQ2 to see if you can narrow the problem to either the game or the extenstion?

Well just a return post in case this ever happens to someone else.
Seemed there may have been a serialization problem with the XP. Even though it passed WGA it seemed to spawn a new proc called WINLOGON every so often. That process seemed to take the foreground process above all others even if they were marked as the active window.
Well, thats all really a big guess, but I changed the following and everything seems to run normally.
- Fixed an WIA problem with a conflicting HP 2600 all-in-one printer driver
- Tried to change the license key for XP and it kept erroring, was able to change the keys on another system. So I reinstalled the XP system doing the recovery option and used a different XP key.
So chaulk this up to a Xp system trying to autheticate continously???
Well thx all for the interest and help.
