Planetside Issues

Post by Xeniaz » Mon Oct 22, 2007 9:37 pm

I cannot seem to get the mouse to work correctly in Planetside, or keyboard input for that matter. It seems to do all sorts of funky things. Also, the console does not seem to load up quite right, and seems not to work when it is loaded. I am very new to Innerspace, and do not find it very easy to use right off the bat. Usually I pick things up very quickly, but this is an exception. I've looked around on the forums and the guided tour thing for Innerspace with no luck yet. I am also a novice programmer, and enjoy writing scripts. Anyhow, just wanted to know if anyone knows how to fix the input issues?

Also, the default for the Game Configuration for Planetside was to have Open GL, and DX8 and DX9 all loaded. PS is a DX8 game as far as I know.

You fix the input issues by reporting the bugs as you have just done, there is no way for you to fix the input issues with Planetside. You generally would just launch the game, and everything would work fine. You can launch any of the other games, for example, and it should just plain work. It's plug and play. I don't think this is an exception, you just happened to launch a game that hasn't been tested in a while and happens to not work presently

The default for all games is to have all 3 of those boxes checked (OpenGL, D3D8 and 9) -- they just make sure that if the game tries to use that system, it will be handled automatically by Inner Space. There is no harm in having support for them ready (unless you are concerned about a couple hundred KB of memory).

No, I'm not overly concerned about that memory :-), In just didn't know if that would cause any issues, so I figured I'd mention it. I've used Innerspace with a few other games since thatn with no issues, and I'd like to thank you for all the hard work you've put into this program, it works fantastic. I really like the Ventrilo extension.

Lax, is this issue going to be fixed in the next Innerspace patch, or is this an issue that's going to take a bit more time to fix? I'm asking because I was thinking about writing some scripts for Planetside and I'll work on those if it's a fix that'd be comming in the more near future, or hold off on it for a bit because it won't be usefull for a little while longer.
