EQ1 - Crash issues

Post by Xunil » Sun Jul 24, 2005 12:26 pm

Lately I seem to be crashing more and more, the crashes cause my machine to reboot. This only happens when 2boxing with PiP.

Specifically I have found one place I can crash everytime when 2boxing. I believe it has to do with the new water, but in Plane of Tranquility while 2boxing if BOTH chars are in that zone it is a guarantee system reboot within 1 minute.

Intel P4 3.2 Ghz

GForce PCIe 5900 256mb
Audigy 2
Serial ATA 10,000 rpm Hard Drive
Latest updates on Directx and Video Driver.

I need to put system info dumps in IS.

Anyway, this actually sounds very much like the old NVIDIA + multiboxing EQ1+ vertex shaders off bug, which has been known since last year and SOE doesnt bother to fix it because it only happens when playing multiple sessions on the same computer. See if this helps you: http://www.lavishsoft.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=862

Well, that explains alot. Thought you might want to know though. I had ALL options in Advanced on except shadows and was crashing often in PoTranq (only). I turned OFF all Advanced and started crashing more.

So this fixes the more frequent crashes but what about the ones with all options on? Is it the Vertex 2.0?
