Start UP Directory Command

Post by Gorthu » Thu Feb 18, 2010 11:35 am

In a MS Window/XP/Vista shortcut, there is a line for the directory (folder) you want to start in. Where is this located in IS and what syntax would be needed?

Inner Space assumes the startup folder for each game is the main executable folder. I'm not aware of a game that this has been a problem for (so please explain if needed)

This is configured in your Game Profile through the IS configuration window (under Game Configuration tab). Or when you use Add Game, the path is extracted from the executable you select.

If all you want to do is run a game from multiple folders with ISBoxer, using Add Game is the quick and easy solution to add the folder to IS, then select the desired Game and Game Profile for each Character in ISBoxer.

SWG uses an executable outside of the game folder to start up. Since that is not the folder where the game and its options exist, and I have no trouble running SWG outside of IS, I am thinking that this may be the reason.

I have no trouble running SWG or multiple copies of SWG if I start them up and do not use IS. As soon as I try to use IS, I get an error message about needing DirectX 9.c and I'm using DirectX 10.

I didn't have them message a few months ago, when I stop playing for a while. I went back to play SWG and I'm getting this error message, but ONLY when I use InnerSpace.

The only difference I find in starting up the game with IS, versus the Windows shortcut I have, is that line for START IN: that lets you assigned a directory to start in other then the one for the executable.
