Computer Losing Internet Connection When Using Innerspace

Post by Hellbound » Thu Jan 14, 2010 4:09 pm

I've been trying to figure this out. When launching characters using innerspace. After a few minutes, sometimes instantly, one particular computer loses internet connection completely. Without innerspace I can leave them online all day without a problem.

This is a remove pc controlled by another. The one thing I can think of is that I have left mouse click linked to all pc's. So when I left click on main pc, it broadcasts to the other pc's. Maybe this is overloading the network for that computer...dont know. PC spec below.

Windows 7 64bit
AMD 3.0ghz dual core
4 gigs of ram

Unless Mouse Repeat is on, there wouldn't be much traffic to do any overloading. If Mouse Repeat is on, then any mouse movement gets relayed over. If Mouse Repeat is on on both PCs, then any mouse movement on either PC gets relayed to the other, and that could potentially cause a problem... but... usually the problem is just that you get a jittery mouse. If you get a jittery mouse, then make sure you are only enabling Mouse Repeat on one ;)

That said, I've never heard of anyone losing their network connection for any reason related to Inner Space.

Mouse repeat isnt on. I'm only broadcasting left click to the other computers. When I left-click on my main, all other characters on the other pc's left-click also. Could constantly left-clicking cause the problem?

I highly doubt it. There's little to no traffic from that. If you've managed to set up a recursive Mapped Key, that'd be a different story. That'd be one that includes a Do Mapped Key Action that ends up doing the original mapped key.

I did notice the computer loses connection when I have the games in windowed mode. Make them all fullscreen and it doesnt lose connection. So what I gotta do is launch the games in windowed mode, then make them full screen.

What is your CPU utilization when you disconnect?

I think I might have found the problem. After much googling, I found that some people were having random disconnects using Nforce mobo's running on Windows 7. This is what was happening to me. Since I only used this machine with innerspace, and some video editing/transcoding/blah blah blah... I decided to surf the web with it.. After just 20 minutes, the computer lost internet connection..
