You're right, I don't think you told me that you copied things over manually and couldn't get Inner Space itself to connect. If I knew that, then I would have moved onto getting IS to connect. So far we've been discussing getting multiple computer helper to work. Your screenshots don't indicate that you have added all of the other Computers to the ISBoxer profile, so I would not have assumed you got far enough to launch the character set in Inner Space.

So first of all...
1. Incoming connections must be enabled on all but the main PC
2. Uplink Name must be different on each PC
3. The Computer info in ISBoxer must be accurate for each of the PCs

Then, assuming the other Character Sets are linked from the main (i.e. Also Launch lists them), launching the main set on the main PC should launch the sets on the other PCs. If not, then you can get further information by selecting "Console" from the IS menu on each of the PCs. If the main PC can't connect to the remote PCs, there may only be useful information on the main PC. If it is actually connecting just fine, there may be useful information on the other PCs. Either way, this is where to look if you are having a problem at this step.

In hopes of finding the problem, I'll be posting screenshots of each pc shoring ISboxer, IS, and the computer name of each machine..

Instead of posting the images here, I'll link them.

Character Sets (Also Launch)

If there is anything you see wrong, let me know.

Remember, the issue is connecting my Windows 7 pc to PC1 and PC2, which are windows xp machines.. I can link PC and PC3 just fine.

Ontop of my issues above, I've been having some stability issues with IS and Win 7. I listed the crash error above. Currently the only way to fix it is to restart the pc. Sometimes it takes several restarts to get things launching. So I decided to try the development release. Well, thats giving me an error now when I try and launch star wars galaxies.. error below.

You have DirectX 10.0 installed but DirectX 9.0 is currently required to play Star Wars Galaxies. For upgrade information please see... http://starwarsgalaxies.station.sony.co ... %20Upgrade

I have Directx 9.0c installed, otherwise I wouldnt be able to play swg at all. Any way to fix this?

Ok, unfortunately the console output from attempting to launch is not visible in any of those screenshots. When you click Console, the uplink window comes up, which contains many other windows, such as the Patcher window and the Configuration window. The window I need to see is the Console window. This window is actually partially visible in one of the screenshots, but only shows some output related to your window layout (probably from during gameplay).

Sorry for not being more specific earlier. What you need to do, on the main PC, is attempt to launch your Character Set, with the Console window in the Uplink visible. When you do this, you will see ISBoxer say what it's attempting to do, it'll start out with verifying some information, and it should see that it needs to connect to your remote PCs and attempt to do that. That is what I need to see. The question remains whether Inner Space is actually connecting but failing to launch, or failing to connect.

Also, rather than screenshots of your ISBoxer config, you can copy/paste it -- right click on "ISBoxer" and select "Copy ISBoxer Toolkit Profile to Clipboard", then you can paste it

I will work on the console tomorrow.. What is your recommendation for the dx9 error I'm getting when trying to launch from IS?

Well, here's the thing. The development build improves Windows 7 support, but because it's a massive overhaul, some things are broken that need to be fixed before the development build moves live. This is probably one of those issues, but since it's the first I've heard of it, I can't say for sure. The only thing I can suggest is to go back to the live build until that error is fixed.

Okay.

I think what is happening is your Windows 7 PCs do not know to resolve the names CHARLES-PC1 or CHARLES-PC2 to those PCs.

This probably means that they are not broadcasting their names. Try enabling file and printer sharing on your Windows XP PCs. I don't think you need to share anything, it just needs to be turned on. I believe this feature is on by default on Windows 7.

I just checked both XP machines, and file/printer sharing was already enabled.. To make sure we are talking about the right thing. I went to control panel, clicked on Network Connections, right clicked "Local Area Connections" and selected properties. Under the general tab there is a check mark on "File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks".. Again, both XP machines have that check mark.

I have done every suggestion from this thread and still cant get my windows xp computers to respond. I guess my only solution is to update both XP machines to Windows 7 64bit.

Instead of typing the netbios name, try inputting the ip address of the XP machines.

You can test it out by typing, "RemoteUplink -connect 192.168.x.x"
If it still doesn't connect, try disabling Windows Firewall and any VirusScan Networking Shield/Firewall.

If this works, then copy the pictures' above examples.[/list]

Can't edit he previous post but:

Try typing that command from the console of your XP machines to connect to your main PC.
Those are the computers where you will be adding the uplink command to startup so that each time you load innerspace on those machine it will automatically connect to the main pc.
