G13 with WoW?

Post by cohkals » Wed Jul 01, 2009 9:46 pm

I just purchased the new G13 and I'm not having success getting it to work. I noticed in the latest patch notes that it is supported. Any ideas why none of the keystrokes are working? Using ISBoxer.

It's probably not working because you're using the Logitech Keyboard Profiler to assign behaviors to the button, and not running the profiler as Administrator.

To use the Inner Space support for G13, you would need to unassign each of the buttons through the Logitech software, and then close it. Then you can select buttons like G13-G1 through ISBoxer as a Hotkey. Otherwise, just run the Logitech software as Administrator

So are you saying there are two different ways this should work?
1)You can use the profiler as long as you run it in Administrator
or
2)Unassign buttons in profiler, close, and ISBoxer should recognize key presses

I've tried both and can't seem to get either to work. ISBoxer has never recognized buttons for hotkey.

I did have limited success last night when I added G13 to launch in IS Game configuration at startup.

Yes, there are two different ways to use a G11, G13, G15, or G19. You have correctly stated both methods.
ISBoxer has never recognized buttons for hotkey.
ISBoxer will show them in the drop-down box for manual selection. Unfortunately the "hit key here" box does not work except for keyboard and mouse buttons. If using the "run profiler as Administrator" method, it should detect the key combination the Logitech software is configured for.

Assuming you mean in the "Pre-main" part of the profile, the net effect of this is that it'll be launched with Administrator privileges, because Inner Space is launched with them. You can technically do that if it makes it easier for you.

I've got it working pretty well, and here's what I've done.

I create keymaps and I choose each key on the g13 manually (G13-G1 thorough G13-G24, etc.)... if you select just "G1", etc. you're choosing keys for the G15, specifically.

As for the profiler, I have a profile created that's locked to the wow executable. All buttons are set to "Unassigned" (which is done by selecting Default, I believe, from the drop down menu). However, I still want to use the joystick to move, so I assign those properly. There isn't a way to use the stick from IS, except pushing the stick down as a button (G13-STICK).

I can post screenshots/excerpts later today, possibly.

Great...any info and pix is wonderful. I really wanted to set everything up inside the profiler but that seems to be the problem.

I just installed a G-13 myself & while I play EQ1 instead of Wow, I'm also having some probs.
I ran the profiler as admin, & unassigned everything. I run ISBoxer (admin) but I don't see any G keys as options from the drop down. Tho I DO have a bunch of media related keys that I don't remember seeing before. Is it possible those are mapped G keys somehow? I've double checked that everything is unassigned.
I'm not trying to actually run any macros from the G13, I just wanna use them as a hotkey for keymaps.

In order to get the keys to show up, you will need to launch Inner Space, close Inner Space, then start ISBoxer. They should then appear as G13-G1 for example in the drop-down box for any Hotkey (not for a "Key Combination" option such as in a Keystroke Action or WoW Macro Action, because the game cannot interpret G13 buttons)
