when launching eq2 via IS, I get the following error:
I talked to Amadeus and he said to talk to you. I get this w/o launching isxeq2 at all. Everything worked great up until I updated this morning to the new patch.
This is a gaming only pc with vista64, latest updates and drivers. And no SecureCRT is not installed and has nothing to do with this error.

Yea I saw that joe when i googled the error, but wasn't sure how that applied to just launching eq2 through IS. Is there something I'm missing?

Can't stand not being able to edit posts. SP1 on Vista also if that's what you mean.

I'm crashing after today's update. If I run Everquest2.exe directly it runs perfectly fine. If I run Everquest2.exe through Innerspace it opens the window, you see FPS and free memory, the client doesn't show anything, and before it renames the window's title it crashes with one of those "Please send this information to Microsoft" type prompts.

Found out what it is - apparently EQ2's latest update, Innerspace, and Creative's Alchemy don't mix. You can have EQ2 and sound by running Everquest2.exe direclty, or EQ2 and Innerspace with sound off - but trying to get all 3 will just cause it to crash.
(odd though that before today's EQ2 update alchemy had its dsound.dll in the EQ2 directory and it didn't crash EQ2 to load it with Innerspace AND that you can still have it use the alchemy for sound if you run Everquest2.exe directly)

Removing the dsound.dll from the EQ2 dir fixed my problem also. Thanks Multi.
Now I'm just wondering if I'm going to have any issues with my sound...
