Everquest1 issue
I just downloaded this innerspace thing thinking it was like WinEq but I can't figure out how to use this system at all. I got it downloaded and got to the windows tray part where I can add game or configure and all that but everquest isn't one of the games that I have an option to use and i can't figure out how to get it to add into the system. If anyone can give me a step by step way to configure everquest into inner space so that I can play my game I would appreciate it, I have no idea what the main Executables is and all that stuff. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
Inner Space usually detects the game unless you installed them in an unusual manner (e.g. copying from an old installation into a non-default folder).
Use Add Game, put "EverQuest" for the name, and then for the executable browse to your EverQuest folder and select everquest.exe.
Assuming you're going to use ISBoxer, you will then need to close Inner Space, launch ISBoxer. For your Characters, use the EverQuest No Patch game profile when you set them up.

i would highly reccomend watching lax's isboxer videos on youtube. they helped me immensely. also if you liek to user seperate INI files for each session/account then you will haev to virtualize 2 files ( see the video for hwo to setup virtual file) for eq1 you haev to virtualize your INI file and the file that controls the login window. the name escapes me atm as I am at work but if lax sees this im sure he'll chime in or someone else will know the filename.

actually eh mentioend recently in another post here you go:
Add a Virtual File in ISBoxer, named "eqclient.ini". Add each of your Characters to it, and select each one under the Virtual File. Set the "Virtualize as" filename to a different name per Character (or per Account, or however you want to do it -- multiple Characters can use the same one), e.g. eqclient-MyCharacter.ini.
Then you can have different settings for each one without multiple folders. To have each one store its account name separately, do the same thing, but for eqlsPlayerData.ini.

Ok, I got everything up and working and I can log into my game now using innerspace. I followed the video for isboxer down to a "T". right now I'm only boxing 2 characters of my 4 on everquest 1. My computer uses vista and I've noticed that when I have more than 1 session of eq running that switching from character to character takes about 5-10 seconds to fully switch. This is not good for boxing as certain situations require expedient measures. Is there a way that I can get my computer to switch through my characters as fast as it did when i had XP??? I can't box with that delay of time. Please help me, I'm hopeless hahaha.

Do you have lots of available memory? What does your memory stats say when you bring up that second session?tquayl wrote:Ok, I got everything up and working and I can log into my game now using innerspace. I run Vista x64 with 8 Gigs of RAM. I get instant screen swaps running 3 sessions (ok.. not instant, but under 1/2 second).

That's most likely a CPU usage issue. If your CPU is hosed when switching it's going to be slow. Watch the processes in Task Manager to see what's using the CPU when you switch.Ok, I got everything up and working and I can log into my game now using innerspace. If it's a laptop, you may need to adjust the power saving features to high performance mode.
by "hosed" do you mean, it's got alot of processes? cause here's what i've discovered.
Task manager processes without running any session.
processes: 65
CPU usage: bounces from 1 - 3 %
Physical Memory: 33%
Memory: 1.01 GB
When 1 session of everquest is running.
Processes: 66
CPU usage: bounces from 10 - 14 %
Physical Memory: 70%
Memory: 2.10 GB
When 2 sessions of everquest are running.
Processes: 65
CPU usage: bounces from 21 - 26 %
Physical Memory: 89%
Memory: 2.69 GB
So I'm not sure if that is what you are talking about Lax but thats what I see when I open up my Task Manager. I have no clue what 65 processes my computer has going on it. I personally think that it's all vista's fault haha. If you have anymore ideas on how I can get rid of the 10 second time delay b/w my characters I'd really appreciate it.

I have a dual core laptop with external monitor, 4 gigs fo ram. I orginally had vista 32 bit ultimate and even using IS or wineq the ram usage was very high. I could run 3 toons but i had the same issues as you no matter what i tried. I finally installed xp on the system ( dual boot) and no longer had so many issues. may not be the answer you want to hear but it worked for me. it runs much smoother on xp than it does vista for me. also each session appears to use less ram and video ram than they do in vista. ( in both cases i had all the OS fluff turned off during gaming aero interface etc. )
The important thing is the highest CPU usage processes, right when you are switching windows. If you can have Task Manager visible, and sorted by CPU usage, when you switch sessions, then you should be able to see what is using up your CPU when you're trying to switch sessions.tquayl wrote:by "hosed" do you mean, it's got alot of processes? cause here's what i've discovered.

Did you check your power saving options in the control panel?
