Innerspace + IStoolbox for EQ1
Hey all , just subscribed today and im looking to run 3 accounts on a second pc , i just spent 3 hours trying to read everything i possibly can about innerspace and is toolbox.
The settings are very very complex , and very very detailed , instructions are very very vague and it seems like everything requires tinkering / figuring stuff out
Am i missing something? The wiki has so little , is there more instructions? any veterans out there offer me some simple guidance steps?
Has to be more info available

I'm actually in the middle of producing a how to video that will run you through everything. It's a lot simpler than many people make it out to be, because at first glance, there's a lot of options and you may have no idea what most of them are. The existing instructions are very slim, because the first users have been veterans who generally know how they want things, and so for them, it's easy mode -- and I've been wanting feedback from new and old users as far as what is hard to figure out, what is easy, and so on. I've gotten a lot of that feedback, so more details are forthcoming.
For starters, all you need to do is create Characters, put them in a Character Set, and export to Inner Space. Everything else is optional. For example, you have 3 characters on 3 accounts you want to run, in EQ1. So you'd create 3 Characters in ISBoxer Toolkit, select EQ1 for those Characters, create a Character Set for them with 3 Slots, drag each character into a Slot. When you then Export to Inner Space, the next time you launch Inner Space there will be an ISBoxer Character Sets sub-menu, with your Character Set inside. Clicking that Character Set will launch all of your Characters.
Then you have Window Layouts, which you can configure where you want each window positioned, and drag the Character Set to it to activate it for the Character Set. Once you Export to Inner Space again, it will use the configured Window Layout.
That's the quick start for you. I'm trying to get the tutorial video done today, so hopefully within a few hours I can link that for you for more help on setting up Key Maps and/or Repeater and such. Note that for EQ1, you will need to check the box that says "Make the game believe it is the foreground window", because it will ignore keys sent to background windows.
Anyway, back to working on the video. You can come on IRC (follow link from the ISBoxer page under Join us in chat) and get more help from myself or others if you like in the meantime

questions
Thats fine and great for people who want to run 5 accounts on WOW but i want to run 5 accounts in EQ1 on 2 computers , i went through and programmed the characters and groups best i could , seems very straight forward , but im unsure how to link the 2 computers. I see the differences in layouts between the 2 computers , the accounts and characters that are going on computer 2 , im good on all that stuff. When im done and i export to innerspace , under config it says i allow incoming connections , on my other comp i have it installed with computername good and theres no connect , it didnt download anything
how do you do this with 2 computers , possible to make another video? or at least some instructions?
only thing i can think of is i copied the profile i made , put it in shared file , was hoping to open it in innerspace on the other comp , opened it , and its blank ( lol )

I didn't actually show anything specifically for WoW except for making the Config.WTF files. Everything else I did applies equally to EQ1. There are a couple other things necessary for EQ1, mostly just the "prevent game from repositioning window" Character Set option and possibly the "make game believe it is foreground window" option.Thats fine and great for people who want to run 5 accounts on WOW but i want to run 5 accounts in EQ1 on 2 computers
I apologize for not noticing you were wanting to use multiple PCs from the start. As the ISBoxer page explains, multiple computer settings can be configured but will not be exported to Inner Space. The multiple computer stuff in ISBoxer is currently in development.I see the differences in layouts between the 2 computers , the accounts and characters that are going on computer 2 , im good on all that stuff. You can technically make it work but the per-slot Key Map actions will not work across PCs. Here's what to do.
1. Create a Character Set on each PC -- use the ISBoxer Toolkit on each PC to do the configuration.
2. Create Action Target Groups for each Character as well as whichever Groups you want to send actions to -- make the groups on both PCs, so on one PC you can add the characters to the group, and on the other you can select the group to send actions to. The "All w/ current" and "All w/o current" will work across PCs. Repeater will also work across PCs.
3. To connect the Inner Space uplinks (main programs) together, one of the two computers will need incoming connections enabled (and may also need the port open in firewall software if you have it), and the other will need to be instructed to connect to it. You will need to do this before launching your Character Set. To connect to the PC that has incoming connections enabled, you must enter a command in the Console window, in the uplink window. To open this console (note that there is also in-game consoles accessible by hitting ` key in game, so never call it "the" console), right click the IS icon and click on Console. In the console, enter the following command -- replace the IP address in red with the actual IP address, or the hostname, of the PC being connected to.
Code: Select all
remoteuplink -connect 192.168.1.101
thanks for reply
ok will try that again later good info
ps. theres seriousley no way for the other comp to connect and download the settings?

when you say per slot key maps , are you referring to a monitor slot? meaning i cant map hotkey 1 on my keyboard to do something on window 1 , and hotkey 2 on my keyboard to do stuff on window 2
ETC?
Computers connected fine , but im lost on how to configure the second pc IS toolbox unless its supposed to be a mirror
also i tried going into the little chat area , no one was awake / there
