Cant get Innerspace to install

Post by strumm » Tue Oct 21, 2008 6:30 am

I was running innerspace fine but due to some bugged scripts decided to reinstall it.

Anyway I downloaded the innerspace program from the lavish website and then run it and it gives me the crosshair shortcut on my desktop.

I then run this and it starts to download some files then comes up with the error ' lavish.dll is not designed to be run on windows ' and then the innerspace.exe crashes.

Any suggestions on how to fix this???

Try running the installer again. If you didn't UNinstall it before reinstalling, make sure to do that too -- or your efforts will be for naught. For future reference, deleting InnerSpace.XML and GameConfiguration.XML is sufficient to reset Inner Space to its original state.

I have uninstalled the original version and tried reinstalling numerous times. I have run both the installer and then the innerspace.exe crosshair both as administator.

It seems to reinstall all the files ok and then whe it goes to run it comes up with the message ' lavish.dll is not designed to run on windows or is corrupted. Please try reinstalling from original source ..... '

This has got me stumped as it used to run on my computer before.

I use vista 32bit operating system.

Do you think if I copied the lavish.dll from a friend who uses Innerspace this will fix the problem?

I can't really imagine what the issue is with your PC that the file does not get extracted correctly. Yes, if you copied Inner Space from another installation, it should work.

Also, you might try scanning for viruses and spyware...

yeah seems strange ... the lavish.dll file is in both my innerspace directory and my windows directory after installing and it is 0kb in size in both.

It mustn't be extracting properly from the installer for some reason.

I'll try and copy from a friend at some stage and see if that helps.

Thanks for your time

If you're using Windows Vista, you might try installing somewhere other than in Program Files. For example, C:\InnerSpace instead of C:\Program Files\InnerSpace

I'm still interested in whether viruses or spyware are involved here, or if some other application is interfering. Some anti-spyware software has proven problematic before as well, Spyware Doctor comes to mind.

Either way, here's a link to a complete current build of Inner Space (build 4711), which you can simply unzip over your current Inner Space installation: http://www.lavishsoft.com/downloads/Lav ... e.4711.zip

I got my installer to work tonight....

For some reason it installed and didn't have a problem with the lavish.dll
My friend that uses Innerspace told me he had to download a patch tonight so maybe the patch had something to do with it.

My problem now is that when I go to the lavish software login to verify my innerpsace I keep getting an error

Authentication failed (-14)

I have a 3 PC license so the authentication should not be an issue

I have tried to authenticate maybe 20 times and keep getting same error

I am able to load into EQ2 using innerspace but I assume I still need to authenticate to be able to use any scripts??

Another thing I was wondering whether you could help with?

When I open my console and type ext isxeq2 it comes up with the verify box asking me for my pay pal email and isx password ...

I put these in and then this error comes up :

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

Just wondering what this means and why it would be coming up when I am verifying?

Ok an update .... after numerous attempts I finally got to authenticate my Innerspace ...it accepted it without the (-14) error eventually.

Still getting the error I have outlined in my post above regarding the authentication of isxeq2.

Any help on this problem will be greatly appreciated.

Once I get these problems sorted I'm not going to be reinstalling in a hurry let me tell you ....

Hmm ...seems perseverance is the key here ... after spamming my auth details for isx over and over it eventually went through and I'm back up and operational.

Like I said before ..I won't be reinstalling this again in a hurry tho lol

-14 means you got disconnected. Sounds like some network instability to me.

Also your ISXEQ2 subscription is unrelated to Lavish and is not supported here. If you have trouble with ISXEQ2 you will need to go to the site you got it from for support, as I do not know the answer to questions regarding it.
