Controlling multiple clients on one machine

Post by shinkux » Sun Aug 10, 2008 6:13 pm

Hi, I'm a new user to IS. I just registered today after searching for a program to simulate key strokes in multiple clients of Lineage 2. From what I've read so far, it seems as though IS for L2 isn't completely functional? I may be mistaken..but this is the functionality I'm looking for: keystrokes broadcasting between multiple clients (say around 5).

I've tried my best to answer my own questions with searching forums and such, but theres a few questions that I couldn't find the answer to. Particularly questions from this topic:

http://www.lavishsoft.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3712

I've loaded 2 instances of L2 for testing using the Lineage II default profile after minor modification to load from system\l2.exe. My question is, regarding IS sessions, does that effectively create 2 sessions of Lineage II..automatically labeling each session as is1 and is2 in the order it was opened?

Also another question, I've created a keybinds.iss, and ran it through the uplink console since pressing ~ in game doesn't open the in-game console. This is what I used:

Code: Select all

function main()
{
bind num1 "Num 1" relay is2 press "Num 1"
bind num2 "Num 2" relay is2 press "Num 2"
bind num3 "Num 3" relay is2 press "Num 3"
bind num4 "Num 4" relay is2 press "Num 4"
bind num5 "Num 5" relay is2 press "Num 5"
bind num6 "Num 6" relay is2 press "Num 6"
bind num7 "Num 7" relay is2 press "Num 7"
bind num8 "Num 8" relay is2 press "Num 8"
bind num9 "Num 9" relay is2 press "Num 9"
bind num0 "Num 0" relay is2 press "Num 0"
}
The message I received was "Unknown command 'function' then it continued to bind the keys successfully (from what I was able to understand, i.e.
[num1] [Num1] Command (Release) : relay "is2" "press" "Num1"
etc for 1-6.

Personally, I think I'm doing it wrong >_>. Any advice on how to get started? There wasn't a complete explanation I found on starting to use IS from scratch, so I'm a bit confused. I can post more details if needed. Any help will be appreciated :D

I think the fundamental issue I'm having, is that IS isn't successfully attaching to the L2 client.
Right clicking this icon brings up a menu with the list of games detected on your system, and other helpful things like Add Game, Configuration, and links to our website. For Inner Space to perform inside a game, the game must be launched through Inner Space by selecting a profile through this menu (a game launched by Inner Space is referred to as an Inner Space Session).

If Inner Space is successfully attached to a game, then by default you should see a memory indicator and a framerate indicator in the upper left corner of the screen.
I dont see the HUD on the screen after launching this way.

I don't play L2. But I do know how to search the forums for answers.

Mysteryman points out two things in this thread that you must do to get IS to work with L2.

i've actually seen that thread as well. i know how to search..i've spend the past 4 hrs searching the forums for a whopping 2 direct lineage 2 topics and google for 0. I only posted as a last resort obviously as unlike EQ, L2 has very limited support with IS since people would rather bot.

i'm not sure what he means by turn on dx9..isn't it on by default? also..virtual keyboard? is that an option in IS or..? i'm not too advanced in this sort of stuff..i always manually controlled 5 clients until i heard of IS a few days ago

this is just getting frustrating now. i wish someone would tell me that i'm doing something wrong or it just doesn't plain work with lineage so I could stop wasting my time. it's been a few days and I still haven't gotten IS to work with L2.

i must've read this thread a hundred times

http://www.lavishsoft.com/forum/viewtop ... ht=lineage

he obviously got it to work..so unless something's changed with L2 or IS..its not as simple as enabling dx9..which is enabled by default. are there no devs that periodically surf the forums that may be able to help me out? :oops:

I would try switching to the development build of Inner Space, then add Lineage II to the games via Add Game if necessary, and it should simply work. If not, then I would have to fix the issue with the specific game. When I don't have a game it can take me more time to provide support, since I would have to get the game. I've got it somewhere, I just need to find it and my account information.

Games like Lineage II don't have a large American following, and I don't really have a large base at the moment where Linage II is popular, just to give a reason why support for it may have broken unnoticed in the 2 years since that thread.

If you can't get it to work within a reasonable timeframe and you bought a subscription just to use with Lineage II, we do have a 14 day no questions asked refund policy, so don't be afraid to ask.

thanks for the reply. i think the core of the problem is that IS isn't attaching to L2 on load. I've added it manually through the add game option and bypassed the patcher to load the direct game (because the patcher won't load with IS). When the game loads, the title of the window is Lineage II. I've seen in some screenshots and guides for loading EQ2 and it changes the title to is1, is2, etc. Perhaps thats an indication that it isn't attaching properly. It should be easy to download a copy of the latest game to just test if it anchors properly. Its available on the L2 main website..but I also understand the concept of demand vs cost. =)

Yea, unfortunately L2 is one of those games where people would rather use bots like L2Superman and L2Wind to automate everything rather than control multiple clients. I just think this software has really good potential for those who want to multi-client private servers..and 10$ for 3 months is really nothing if its functioning properly. (From what I understand L2 private servers are legal as it is an open source game).

I'll keep digging for a few days to find a solution as well. Mysteryman seemed to get it to work so a few years back so I'll see if I can somehow work around it for the existing version of IS. If all else fails I'll keep the refund policy in mind, thanks. :D

Sorry, I'm unclear from your response as to whether you tried switching to the development build of Inner Space. I recently fixed issues with other games, and I'm curious if the same fix applies here.

You can switch to the development build by going to the Inner Space Patcher window (right click and select Patcher), and checking the 'Download development patches" box, then restart Inner Space.

I just applied the development build patch for IS. Unfortunately it did not fix issues with L2.
