Few problems.

Post by callojoee » Sat Apr 14, 2007 1:56 am

Hello. Ive bin playing with IS for a few hours and I'm having a few problems.
When I first run WOW in IS I would get a black screen. I could hear the music but noting would come up on the screen. After playing around a bit I got it to work by unchecking OpenGL, Direct3D8 and Driect3D9 in the Display Systems tab. Now I'm still not sure what those do but at least I got the game to come up.

Another problem I'm having is not being able to pull up the counsel window in WOW. I know you use ` to pull it up but thats not working. Ive tried a few other things but I get nothing.

hehe third problem I'm having is when I run WOW in IS and I exit WOW I gotta reboot my comp. It will drop to the desk top but you cannot click anything. My mouse cursor will move but I'm unable to click anything. The olny way Ive found to stop this is to tab out of WOW close IS then exit WOW.

Well thankyou. Ill keep playing with it. Im having fun anyways!

Ok an update. From what Ive read I must pick one of the 3 viedo options. I guess those run the gui in wow for IS. I tried all three and the olny one I can get to work is Driect3D9. Still I cannot the console to come up.
Also I was thinking about something else. I have never installed WOW on this comp. I just transfered the whole WOW folder from another comp to mine and it works great. Mabey thats a problem. Ill try reinstalling WOW and see what happens.

hehe third problem I'm having is when I run WOW in IS and I exit WOW I gotta reboot my comp. It will drop to the desk top but you cannot click anything. My mouse cursor will move but I'm unable to click anything. The olny way Ive found to stop this is to tab out of WOW close IS then exit WOW.
You've got some really wonky problems on your computer. I would suggest running virus and spyware scans, updating drivers (particularly video card driver from nvidia.com) and checking for Windows updates. Nothing with IS or WoW should cause this type of problem

update

Post by callojoee » Sun Apr 15, 2007 6:50 pm

Ok. Well windows is a fresh install. I have Norton fully updated. I have all service packs installed. Everything is fully updated. All my Norton scans come out clean. I updated my video drivers and I no longer gotta reboot but I still cant get the console to come up. Do I gotta log in to get it to come up or can I do it from the log in screen? I mean I can get IS to boot WOW but I want to make sure its working rite and I cant get the console to come up to do checks.

Crazy stuff!

Post by callojoee » Sun Apr 15, 2007 7:22 pm

Well! So anyways I logged in to see if I could bring up the console. Wierd stuff happend. Like moving the camera with my mouse caused the camera to spin really fast! Or if I held the right mouse button to turn my char he would also spinn around really fast! Very wierd. If I load wow by its self with no IS it works fine. Go figure.

Are you using some programs you're not telling us about? It sounds like you might be using Synergy or Multiplicity or something

Hmmm

Post by callojoee » Mon Apr 16, 2007 10:51 am

Hmmmm I dont have any of thoes programs installed(I had to google them to see what they were, lol). Since this is a fresh install I dont have much installed. Ill list what ive installed.

Norton Anti Virus, I thought Norton was interfering with it so I uninstalled it. That didnt change anything so I reinstalled it.

VLC Meida Player.

Firefox web browser.

MIRC

STEAM for playing Day of Defeat.

FRAPS

Gaim

Some stupid my space crap.

Thats about it. The olny other thing I can think of is I never installed WOW I just transfered the wow folder over to my comp. Would that be a problem?
