Installation problems

Hey there, Sorry if this is a common question but i've been searching these forums for quite a while without any joy.

Basically I've downloaded Inner Space, installed it and this is where the problems begin. The shortcut it leaves on my desktop doesn't have an icon (not that is the problem and perhaps that is routine) but after clicking on that and entering my login it downloads some files then nothing, no icon in my toolbar. I've just uninstalling and reinstalling - but i'm really stuck. Any help and I would be very grateful.

Forgive me. I found a nice guide after searching again and it sorted me out.
