Where to start?

Post by BardRunner » Mon Jun 05, 2006 10:22 pm

Having an issue on 1 PC where I CTD after I load IS then log into EQ2 ... Prior to getting to character select I CTD each time. If I log into EQ2 directly with out IS, I can get into EQ2. However I then can not run ISXEQ2 due to the updated EverQuest2.exe

Any clues as to where to look? Things to try etc?

I believe that ISXEQ2 needs to be updated for each version of Everquest2.exe that is released. If there has been a patch to EQ2 recently and ISXEQ2 has not been updated then that could result in a CTD if you have ISXEQ2 autoloading. You can find more information regarding ISXEQ2 here.

My suggestion would be to make sure there are not any extensions loading by default as IS by itself should not give you any CTD's.

I had this problem yesterday.
You need the old appcache.vpk file, not just the everquest2.exe file.

http://isxeq2.twonk.net/appcache.vpk
replace the appcache.vpk in your pak directory.

However, eq2 servers comming down for a patch in an hour anyway so...
Good luck.
