(For some reason, I have this gut feeling I am going to get flamed for this, seemly, simple question. Anyhow, here goes...)
I realize that there is ISXEQ, which is (correct me if I'm wrong) MQ2 functionality for the IS environment. I am grateful that the last release of ISXEQ allows the use of MQ macros, although I really do enjoy MQ for the plugins that have been created.
I do use macros, but the plugins really make a solid base for my macros -- essentially the MQ2 plugins make my macros what they are.
I would really like to completely move over to IS, for two reasons, linux compatibility and it's where Lavish Software is heading -- it's the next generation software. I would like to fully support it, use it, and help with the development of it. I feel learning MQ2 scripting and such is sort of redundant at this point, for it's quite old, and I should learn InnerSpace scripting/extension development if I am looking at the potential and the future.
So, at the moment in time, I'm using MQ2 and WinEQ2. I want to drop both of these and jump on the IS boat. However, the game I am playing, and the game I'd like to work with is EQ1.
I've done a couple of searches on various forums held by Lavish Software, and I've checked the Wikis.
I am trying to determine if I can use Innerspace and MQ2 together in Windows, until (if) InnerSpace improves the MQ2 / IS relationship to include more functionality to the existing work on the MQ2 forums (plugins, mostly). For I love my MQ2 + WinEQ setup, but I really want to jump onto my linux box, and I want to begin to give something to this awesome company in the form of code (rather than money which I'm not made of).
Thanks.
IS + MQ2 Integration

In the future, it would be more appropriate for questions involving MQ2 and ISXEQ to be posted on the macroquest2.com boards if you dont mind, but I will answer this for you
Inner Space can be used with MQ2 just like you use WinEQ 2 with MQ2. They wont interact, just like WinEQ 2 doesnt interact with MQ2, which is where ISXEQ comes in. Since ISXEQ is MQ2 built for IS, they will interact and you get the best of both worlds.
I've been considering routes to take for plugins. It will be possible to link existing plugins against ISXEQLegacy, if ISXEQLegacy is modified a little bit more and a switch is flipped in the MQ2 plugin. Right now I'm kind of watching to see if people are interested though.
