Crashing w/ Patch

Post by durew » Tue Aug 14, 2007 8:04 pm

WinEQ 2.0 is client crashing after hitting Enter World for me and various people I've talked to; anyone getting a similar issue or know a workaround to get it to work?

For some people totally disabling eqplaynice allows them to work.

Unfortunately, I'm not some people. I have to totally unload wineq2 to even use the old eq client. bleh.

turn off EQplaynice

exit wineq2

rerun wineq2

This fixed it for me.

To disable eqplaynice you have to do it from the Everquest tab of the preferences, not the eqplaynice tab. Once you disable it, you have to close out wineq and restart it.

I spent hours yesterday trying to reproduce the crash, and I'm just not able to. If I could get sysinfo.txt posted from people who are crashing that would help a bit

I had this problem on my vista laptop. It stopped crashing when I set WinEQ2 to run compatible with XP sp2.
