_WINEQ2-EQ.dll 100%

Post by Rorek » Sat Dec 23, 2006 3:01 am

When initializing WinEQ2 after having just formatted my pc - it hangs at this point. "_WINEQ2-EQ.dll" and it's 100%, it just sits there, eventually going "Not Responding". I've left it to load for roughly an hour hoping it might just work itself out but it appears that it doesn't want to.

All it's doing is decompressing a file. I'm unaware of any reason why this would fail for you, other than a problem with the operating system or hardware. Make sure to update all of your drivers (including motherboard drivers, particularly hard drive related -- e.g. IDE, SATA), apply Windows updates including Service Pack 2, and everything should work just fine.

It did eventually decompress the file and finished its loading. I just left it overnight. Restarted by pc and went to load it again and now it is telling me that I require DirectX 9 or higher, which I can understand - but the problem is I already have it installed. I even installed it again and it continues to ask for it before wineq will initialize.

Rorek-

There are several versions of DX9, you need the latest. I believe that error message gives a link to the correct version.

If that still doesn't work, please post your sysinfo.txt so we can take a look at it.

Thanks

Same thing has happened with my system. Not sure how to fix it, but I cannot run the program after having just downloaded it.
