I figured, OK, dont use alt-enter.
I found the same problem occurs when leaving my trader logged in, and turning off my monitor. when i return, I have to hit ctrl-alt-delete, and cancel to jumpstart my desktop. (this is a common occurrence when running Eq in it's default windowed mode). However, when the desktop finally redraws the WinEQ window, the world rendering is bugged again, and i need to /quit the server and log back in to fix the problem.
Im including my sysinfo and a screenshot: as you can see, the trader Platform object, characters, and UI are all visible, just no world.

P.S I know you hear this alot, but fullscreen emulation when running only 1 instance of EQ in the lite version would rock. (i dont box windows, i have a laptop for that.)
