WinEQ 2

For some reason WinEQ 2 wont work. I have used it with no problems but I run 2 accounts on the same computer so rebooting once in a while is a good idea. I shut the instances or EQ down and close my computer via the shut down menu. Once I restarted my computer and got WinEQ2 up and running (it did a patch) then it wouldn't start EQ. Friend of mine use it too and it works for him even after patching. I changed nothing in EQ, WinEQ2 or on the comuter in general between shutting the computer down and after reboot.
It acts like it starts up then it stops. Usually starting a default profile up takes max 10 seconds but now nothing happens even after minutes.

I did try and make a new profile. The only difference was that Patch was set to ON in the new profile (compared to OFF in the default) and EQs .exe file kept creating an error so I had to shut it down. If Patch was set of OFF nothing would happen. Any ideas ?

Just to add more frustration I tried to uninstall WinEQ2 and DL it again in hopes that might fix something. Those 2 things went well but when I tried to install it again I got

Error opening file for writing: D:\WinEQ2\Lavish.dll.
Hit retry to retry writing the file, or cancel to abort installation.

So now I can't even reinstall it

I forgot one thing. When I right click on it to open the default profile under Everquest I don't get the "Create Desktop Shortcut" or "Websites" that I can see under the other games. I used to get those but after it wouldn't work then they somehow have gone missing.

I've temporarily removed those to get it working for others. I'm working on it, heh.

Why not just have 2 versions of WinEQ2 for Dl then ? Since half can use with and half can use without it seems.

Because I'm working on solving the problem, not creating new downloads. Theyre not required to run the game, they will be coming back as soon as the problem with that is solved.
