I have read the other topics on the mouse issues, and I think this one is separate.
Ever since yesterday, my mouse cursor has been working more like regular EQ windowed mode.
When I release the cursor, I like to be able to control EQ but leave the cursor released. Now when I have my cursor released, and I move the mouse across the active EQ window, the cursor automatically goes back into the in-game cursor (I don't press the mouse release button to get it back).
It also goes back into the game when I just click on the window to make it the active window again, the cursor is automatically re-captured
This is pretty annoying, it is winEQ 2.10 lite btw
Not sure if this is intentional, but I like to have full control over my mouse cursor and it is one of the main reasons why I use this program.
Thanks in advance for any replies
Mouse automatically going back to game after released?

thanks much
I have another one now that I have your attention I guess, but this ones been going on forever, and happened in EQW too..
Sometimes when I release the mouse, I can't control it in regular windows. It does nothing when I cilck on other windows. When I re-activate it in EQ it acts as though I am holding the mouselook button down (so when I move the cursor, I actually turn my character)
The only way to fix this is to press ctrl-alt-delete, get the task manager up, then close the task manager, and it frees up my mouse for other programs again.
I thought this was just my computer, but I replaced all of my components a bit ago and did a fresh install, and it still happens.
No idea if you even understand what I am getting at, but appreciate the support here

Nope not really sure what you mean. It sounds like something is stuck activated in windows, like maybe a mouse button or key, and really I dont think there's much I could do about that. I would scan for viruses and spyware I guess. Otherwise, post sysinfo.txt and maybe I'll see a module or something loaded that could be causing problems
What I mean is .. when I hold down mouse2 and move my mouse, my character moves.
When what I was explaining above happens, when I re-capture my mouse and move it around (Without pressing any buttons), it moves my character as though the button is pressed.
I am on a fresh format/install of win XP so it's not spyware or anything, and this has happened for years including in eqwindows. It's probably a conflict of some sorts and I don't expect you to fix it, but am just wondering if it is something you have heard of before.
I can move the external cursor around fine, but when I click on things nothing happens. As soon as I press ctrl-alt-delete and the task manager comes up, all is back to how it should be, so its not a big deal.

Huh... yeah, no clue. I tried everything I could think of just now to get that happen and failed miserably. The closest I could get was holding both mouse buttons, then releasing the mouse... the character kept moving, but as soon as I re-captured, it stopped. And I had full control in windows while released.
It must be something weird between Windows and DirectInput for you.
