Installing makes an icon on your desktop. Does opening that work? It should at the very least pop up a message box explaining a problem if it doesn't work.

Same thing for me, was working perfect. DL'ed todays updated too..
All that happens is, I click on the shortcut on the desktop, it flashes the patcher like 15 times updating dll files and exe's, and no system try icon appears to laucnh EQ from.

Do you have Windows Media Player 9? It shouldnt be required unless you're a subscriber trying to make video, but it's a possible cause and I would like to know if it is the problem

Err... okay patching over and over is a bit different than "no icon"

Try downloading 2.03 manually

it Patches the whole thing then stops after like 20 files.. then no icon appears. I click on the shortcut again, and no icon again.

So whats going on, why it keep patching the dll files over and over, and not creating a tray icon so I can load EQ? Dint install anything in the last 3 days. Latest dx9, latest Video drivers for fx5700. No Hardware or software changes since I formatted 4 weeks ago.

I dont know what to tell you. It does a CRC check on all of the files, if it doesnt match it patches them. Try disabling any firewall, removing viruses and spyware/etc. The system for patching hasnt changed since August.

Nope No Spyware/no firewall..
Maybe Something wrong with the files making them check.. Downloaded whole thing again, still patches...
Gimmy some Registry searches so I can do a whole removal.

The only thing left in the registry is your username and encrypted password, in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Lavish Software.
We all like to think our machines are free of spyware, but if you would actually scan it and make sure then I can eliminate that as a possibility. Same with viruses. You should disable all startup programs using msconfig and try it like that as well.

Remove ALL startup items so they can be eliminated from the possibilities. Something is stopping it from either writing the files entirely, or writing the files correctly... It works for everyone else, so..
