Well, i looked long and hard for the SysInfo.txt file, even did a search for it, but I wasn't able to find it.
Ever since the DoDh patch(es) I've been unable to run wineq2.0 at all.
I'm working with 1gig of ram here, never had any troubles before so I doubt its a problem with system recourses.
Whenever I try to run wineq, it never even makes it into the game. I just immediately get this message:
And thats the end of the story, other people are telling me they can run it fine so I know it must be something screwing up on my end but I just can't figure out what and it's bugging me.
Any help on this is appreciated =).

That looks like fun!

System resources wouldnt be a problem in this instance; the game would start and not produce an eqgame.exe error no matter what.
However, there is plenty of stuff that could be interfering and producing this error, including but not limited to viruses or spyware. WinEQ 2 runs great on a clean installation of Windows XP SP2 (but not guaranteed on SP1 or earlier). You should try shutting down other programs and performing virus and spyware scans, just to make sure none of that is part of the problem.
Also, should I be assuming you have patching disabled? Have you tried enabling it (or if you are patching, have you tried disabling it)? Past that, the "To see what data this error report contains, click here." on the error box provides some useful information about the crash that might help.

AVG, Ad-Aware, and Spybot S & D all come back clean.
Running SP2~
Will try changing it to patch (wasn't patching before) and let you know if that fixes it.
Here is the info from the error report:
Technical information =
hope that helps.
Thanks a ton for the quick response =)

Just because it comes back clean does not mean that it is clean. ;(

Well glad to see it's not just me.
I realize that doesn't mean it's 100% clean, but I have all the latest virus / spyware definitions etc so I'm doing the best I can there.
I haven't added any new hardware or software since the patch, so I honestly think it's a setting somewhere that the patch may have changed.
But really I have no idea

To be honest with you, my EQ crashes instantly with or without WinEQ. I run it, it goes to a small screen, flashes the entire screen black for a moment, goes back small, and it's dead after that.

I am having the exact same problem...
I can run eq off the eq shortcut with no problems. I can stay logged in all day long.
If you find a solution please post it.
Thanks

The problem seems to be a bug with eqclient.ini. If you delete your eqclient.ini file (or custom eqclient.ini file if you use one) you should be able to log in again.

I'm just wondering are you other guys still experiencing this problem or has anybody found a workaround (minus 2 standard eq instances).

I have the same problem. New comp. Fresh install. Had to not install winxp sp2 update due to it causing problems after reboot post-installation. I saw the reply uptop saying no guarantee WinEQ2 will work without sp2, but I see others are having this problem with sp2 installed.
The problem is, WinEQ2 can't find the eqgame.exe. I've used the browse option to create an alternate profile, and can't even see the eqgame.exe that way. I've been poking around in WinEQ2 to see if I have something turned on or off that's interfering, but I haven't found anything yet.
WinEQ works. I use the browse option there in profiles and see eqgame.exe no problem at all. I can always run EQplaynice separately, but I hate taking a step backward in time >.<
