2 Instances EQ1 +P4 (Hyperthreaded) Crashing since today
Since Today i'm getting more than the Occasional Crash.I'm Logging Into EQ everytime over the WinEQ Lite2 Icon Rightclick Menu.Everything is working well as every Day but today i got a few Crashes in a Row .mostly 1 Instance is crashing while the other is still running but got even once both Instances crash together in the same Moment.Dunno if this is a WinEQ Issue or EQ Issue i will play tomorrow without WinEQ to check that first .Patched in the last Days a few Times for Beta Server and back to regular but since the instance without the changed Beta Files crashed too i'm nearly sure its not this.updating this tomorrow after checking the crashability without WinEQ .
Well i played a Day without WinEQ2 lite and no Crash. next Day i tried it with WinEQ again and i crashed more than i played
The Crashing is as Following : while im playing the Screen turns black and the Mouse releases (i have the send Crash Data to Soe sometimes on) a few Moments later i get the Window asking me if i give permit to send the Crash Data to Soe.Yes or no closes the Game and im in next EQ Instance or on the Desktop.
I Run 2 Instances of EQ1 (each from his own Folder) from within WinEQ2 Lite. Before i posted the First Time i got no Problems .From 1 Day to the next i started to notice these Crashes. If you need more Info or Files to check just tell me ill Update the thread with it .

It's hard to read your posts because of the randomly capitalized words

In the past this has been shown to cause stability issues (to my knowledge, starting with fresh eqclient.ini files in both fixed that for most people). Additionally, it will cause performance bottlenecks. Is there a reason you're running two sessions from different folders? Have you tried running them from the same folder?I Run 2 Instances of EQ1 (each from his own Folder)
When i started to use the second account i previously researched a few boards for this kind of stuff. On the hackersquest.org boards i found a few "howto run 2 accounts from the same pc " and they suggested to run each instance of eq from his own folder.I even found some post from folks getting problems while running the 2 instances from within the same folder (performance and stability problems) so i started to use them that way.Never tried to use the 2 sessions from the same folder. Will try later to run them from the same folder and get a fresh eqclient.ini first. posting after that what is going on.thanks lax
Ahh. Yeah the information they had is actually outdated and not really correct. The problem is that there are actually worse performance problems with using two folders than one, and any stability issues that might have existed when they posted that information originally no longer exist. My recommendation is to run them from the same folder, and WinEQ is designed to make that work favorably. You can read more about the performance issues here http://www.lavishsoft.com/wineq2/faq.php#2.1
Update on Problem
Well i started to run both sessions from the same folder and instead of crashing to the desktop the pc started to systemcrash and initializing the reboot. After some bitching i started to run eq without wineq and guess what the same problems showed up again ( remember ?? on my first try without wineq all worked fine so i thought the problem is on the wineq side
)Well long words short story
: i searched and tried a few things and than i found the delinquent. it was the dust in the ventilation system of CPU and GPU
(at least i found out that the GPU is reaching at over 100C and this with a overheated CPU by 90C)Finished a moment ago to setup the hardware, now im going to check the results. updating you tomorrow on this but i guess that i removed the problems with the dust

Ouch. Yeah, one of my first suggestions is generally to check that all of your system fans are spinning correctly. This was one of the few times I didn't!
The other problem with overheating like that, is that it can cause permanent damage, even when the card or CPU was perfectly good previously and the fan is now spinning correctly and keeping the card cooled. If you continue to have problems, make sure it isn't a result of permanent damage to your electronics (you may have to swap out the video card, cpu and motherboard to determine this)

Final Update on Problem
Hey
After some intensive testing i can confirm that it was all caused by the dust and the overheating from it. (strange that the first time after noticing the problems they stopped when i tried EQ without WinEQ,confused me a lot in the beginning
).Cleaned out all the dust between the cards, cooling blocks and fans.Moved the GPU to a slot farer away from the CPU and installed another fan into the system. Now all is working like it should.
