Screenshots with WinEQ 2.0
When I make a screenshot with the internal "-" (minus) key in Everquest, the result is a white BMP file.
When I log on a single session without WinEQ, I can make screenshots just fine.
Is this a feature a subscriber only feature that I miss, or do you reckon I can fix this somehow?

First I've heard of this issue and no, it would not be a subscriber-only feature. WinEQ is not intended to remove features that you otherwise have, just add them for you. It sounds like something that might have been broken by recent WinEQ updates, so I'll check on this issue tonight.
In the meantime, you CAN take screenshots using Windows itself, and you can store those however you like (they dont have to be huge 2MB bitmap files). Hit Alt+PrintScreen to take a screenshot of the current window, then hit PASTE in an image editor (windows paint works fine if you want to save to a bitmap), and you can save it.

Hmm well, I tested this just now it actually seems to work just fine. It's possible that EQ is generating a different color format in the BMP, and your image viewer is simply failing to view it. Without more information I certainly cant back that up, but I dont see a reason why you would get a white bmp.
Is there anything I can post that might help?
If I load up Everquest without WinEQ 2.0, I can make screenshots just fine using the - key and they show up in my image viewer. With WinEQ 2.0 though, I get white BMP's. They save just fine with the exact time and datestamp, and because they are BMP files the size is the full size of a few MB.
What I haven't tried yet is setting ScreenshotType=JPG in eqclient.ini - I will try that tonight. Also, I have been testing in one of the sessions exclusively, and I guess I should try both sessions.
Just for the record, I have a P4 2.53 Ghz, 1 Gb Memory, Radeon 9700 Pro 128 Mb, and I run 2 sessions of Everquest when I play. I run in 1280x1024 and in 16 bit color mode on both desktop and in the game.
My image viewer is ACDSee version 7. I know there is a version 8 out there, but not willing to spend the money at the moment. Microsoft Paint and The Gimp 2.2 give the same white result when I try to view the BMP.

Yep, thats what I did when I needed to take a screenshot of the targetring I made for my guild. Unforunately, that is a workaround that works for 1 screenshot at a time, and it won't help me to make screenshots from an event where I want to pound the - button a few times just to get the best shotLax wrote: In the meantime, you CAN take screenshots using Windows itself, and you can store those however you like (they dont have to be huge 2MB bitmap files). This is something I will have to try out later tonight. I must admit then when I went into EQ without WinEQ 2.0, I only loaded 1 session to test the screenshots, and with WinEQ 2.0 I almost always start my second session as soon as the first one is logged in.Lax wrote:Also, is this only when running multiple sessions?
Sorry for the late reaction. I will go ahead and give you the SYSINFO TXT later tonight when I come home from work. I tried to make a few screenshots yesterday from guildies in different shrouds etc, but they came back white.
Its probably my PC being cranky.
Will post the sysinfo tonight and any other info i can think of.
P.S., but you probably already know this.... this mornings patch did not allow me into Everquest, it gave me the EQPlayNice message and then it crashed. Do I need to turn EQPlayNice to off to resolve that, or just wait for the WinEQ patch?
Can't try till about 6 hours from now anyways, will keep ya updated on the screenshot issue.
