Program Shutdown Problems

Post by Rihard » Thu Sep 01, 2005 10:03 am

Generally when I want to log off a boxed toon, I gate them and then right click the window's bar in the taskbar and then click close to exit out while they're zoning to bind. The last couple days the eqgame.exe hasn't been unloading when I do this.

The WinEQ session closes, but the process keeps running in the background taking up the normal amount of memory and keeping the toon logged in game. One change I have noticed is that the end task dialog no longer pops up when right clicking the bar and clicking close, the WinEQ window just closes right away. At this point the only way to close it is to end the process in task manager.

I haven't seen anyone else post on this issue yet, so maybe I'm weird in preferring this way to exit out toons (it's quick though!), but I thought I'd throw this in in case it's something you can reproduce and maybe fix. If any additional information is needed, let me know and I'll add it.

No problem! Also just realized I didn't mention it if it matters, but this is playing EQ1.
