Some issues with wineq2 in eq 1

Post by suvenu » Mon Aug 13, 2007 8:59 pm

I have been having some log in issues with wineq2 in EverQuest 1. The launching is fine, its when I try to log into a session I begin to have problems. I am asked for a user name and pass word. When I try to type in the user name and pass word the cursor either blanks out in user name space or in the pass word space or both. Or it will back space and erase part of the pass word. There are times when I am able to get the user name and pass word in only to be met with a message that I have put in a invalid user name and pass word. I have also gotten a message that says my system has encountered a problem. Then there are other times when I try to log in 2 sessions and as soon as I am able to finally get in a user name and pass word it crashes. I have recently discovered that if I exit out of the wineq2 and relaunch it and open the desired number of sessions it loads fine. In addition, while have more than 2 sessions running the switching in between sessions is not working properly either. So say for instance, I have war, enc, healer logged on. I switch between sessions it will go to war, enc, war, enc, war, enc then healer it varies, but it rarely switches in the order they are supposed to healer, war, enc. It is as if it is skipping a session and is not registering. I Have never had these problems before until recently with in the last 2 or 3 months.

Hope you can help me out. Thanks much for reading this post.

Take care,

Suvenu :)

I would say it sounds like your system is encountering several problems. I can't imagine why this would happen on a clean system. If I were you I would probably be scanning for viruses and spyware, or as a last resort, reinstalling Windows.
In addition, while have more than 2 sessions running the switching in between sessions is not working properly either. So say for instance, I have war, enc, healer logged on. What method, specifically, are you using to switch sessions? If you're alt+tabbing it goes in window Z order for example.

I have done reformat very recently. I am still having the same problem. I am using and have always used the = sign to switch btwn sessions. I have never had a problem using this.

Thanx.

I checked for virus, spy ware. Nothing on my system. I am at a loss on this one. No idea why things are working as they are. I will keep trying ot figure out what the problem is.
