Very slow session switching

Post by antarctica7 » Wed Feb 08, 2006 4:43 pm

Playing EQ 1, using winEQ2, game loads and runs fine.

My problem is when I have two sessions going and switch from one to the other, it takes aproximately 20 to 25 seconds to switch from one to the next. During this time, both screens are locked up. Also, when i fired up the second session I started getting the warning from wineq that i was down to like 5 meg of ram left when the other session was almost finished loading. I know I have some settins turned up, but with 1.5 gig memory honestly thought I would be ok. If it is strictly a RAM issue I can throw another stick of 512MB in the computer.

Using the 8X AGP 6800 GT video card and dual display on two Samsung SyncMaster 930B displays.

Advice would be appreciated.

Well, if it gave the memory warning, that would be a pretty strong indicator that its probably RAM related, though yes, 1.5gb is generally plenty. The problem of course is that you also run other programs, etc. If you can, make the problem happen, and then right click on the title bar of one of the windows and hit Get System Info. It will be generated at that point, and then we'll see what the deal is with the RAM
