I recently bought a new Dell using Windows Media Center OS. I'm not sure what is causing it, but after a few hours of running multiple toons in WinEQ I seem to "lose" my internet connection. EQ stops responding and slowly goes LD. If I try to pull up a webpage in a brower the page cannot be found and I intantly get an error message. I reboot and everything is fine, but that of course is a major pain.
It only seem to happen when I am running multiple instances of WinEQ over a long period of time. Any idea what is causing this? Could it be something with WinEQ or do you think its in the OS? Do you know of any settings I could change to fix this?
Losing Internet Connection

The only thing that comes to mind from this is the day of the WinModem (software-controlled modem). If you're on dialup, and your PC came with a software modem, I could see this happening if you're running several EQ sessions. What happens is the game drains all the CPU, leaving none for the modem, and you lose connection. However, I havent heard of this happening with a modern PC. I suppose the modernized version of this scenario is having a software network interface card, which could possibly be built into your computer.
Are you disabling EQPlayNice? If not, then that shouldnt be what's going on, and I'm skeptical that it would happen anyway.
My advice, I suppose, is to check for driver updates for your computer, from Dell. You should be able to go to dell.com, find a spot to type in your model number, and they should have a list of downloads, including drivers, that you just have to download and run in order to install. Not too difficult.
Past that, ya got me. It could be something with your home router or cable box.

Cable
I have a cable internet that I share via a 4port linksys router. I load MQ then WinEQ and very little else in the background. I dont load EQPlayNice, but I dont know that I have it specifically disabled either.
It doesnt seem to be anything with my router because my other PC stays connected just fine and once I reboot my PC it reconnects like normal. Also, dont know if this is important or not, but once I lose my connection I cant load ipconfig; I get a windows error message if I try.
Will check for driver updates, any other suggestions on EQPlaynice or router settings?

Well, if you cant ipconfig when it happens, its probably not going to have anything to do with EQPlayNice or your router. It's most likely going to be a hardware issue, or drivers. Though it's also possible that for some reason your DHCP lease expires, or another machine stole your IP address, and there might be some conflict there. That's all I can think of though
