Everquest Profiles being ignored?

Post by heybirder » Sun Feb 06, 2011 6:32 pm

I'm a returning EQ player who hasn't played in over 6 months and my last expansion was SoD. Everything was working fine at this time and my software has just been sitting on my drive.

I just bought HoT and re-subbed a few accounts and when I run WinEQ2 to start my chars I don't seem to get separate profiles. I end up with just 'Everquest' as the Window Title instead of my char Name I have set and the proper account name doesn't get filled in.

Each char I load has the previous name in the account field as if I am only using 1 profile.

Digging around I see eqlsPlayerData.ini holds all this info and there are files

eqlsPlayerData.WinEQProfile0.ini
...
eqlsPlayerData.WinEQProfile5.ini

for all my WinEQ2 profiles. Has something changed or does anyone know why WinEQ2 isn't swapping this info? From how I see it every toon I load changes eqlsPlayerData.ini and the next char loads that file.

Solved. 3rd party program called 'ATI Tray Tools' running will cause WinEQ2 to not run properly. Maybe you guys are tripping over each other.

unload 'ATI Tray Tools' and WinEQ2 runs correctly.

Guess which program is staying :D
