EQ2 complains about missing DLL when running from WinEQ

Post by seanboxer » Mon Aug 16, 2010 6:17 am

If I try to launch the browser in EQ2 while using WinEQ, I get an error dialog about a missing DLL:

The program can't start because MSVCP71.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.

Run EQ2 without WinEQ, and this doesn't happen.

Any ideas?

I can't seem to edit my previous message so I'll information here:

I didn't include sysinfo.txt because the file is empty both before and after running the program and game, and after choosing the option to generate system info.

The file is empty. Removing the file and re-running wineq2 and the menu option to generate system information does not create/populate the file.

See if there's a file with that filename in the EQ2 folder. If there is, copy it into \windows\system32, then it'll probably work fine.

If that doesn't help, you can always run ISBoxer and get the same feature set in an easier package... with updates and without this issue.
