Application Error (Crash on Launch of EQ)

Post by Homerg » Sun Feb 14, 2010 6:44 pm

I've never had any issues with WinEQ 2 and recently upgraded my video card drivers on ATI's site for my ATI HD 3870 video card. Since the upgrade I get the following error message when launching Everquest 1.
The instruction at 0x0410d306 referenced memory at 0x00000044. The memory could not be read.

Click on OK to terminate the program
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Solved issue, deleted eqclient.ini and re-ran patcher. Solved my problem.

Replicated issue. It occurs when I set my Resolution to 1980 x 1020. Then, Relaunch the window to receive the above error.

ETA on fix Lax?

Sounds like it's an EQ crash that's unrelated to WinEQ to me. Have you checked to see that this same thing doesn't happen without WinEQ?

Yea, I had to stop using WinEQ. Works fine if I launch it normally. Only way I can get wineq to work, is if I delete the ini and reload it. Then as soon as I set the resolution to 1980 x 1020 it crashes on the next wineq launch. However, WinEQ will work til the next launch.

I would recommend trying out ISBoxer instead of WinEQ. It offers the same functionality in a nicer package, and has additional features you might enjoy, like key broascasting. (e.g. Instead of tabbing between the windows to cast a spell, press a hotkey in the current window and it can send a keystroke to the other window for you)

And you shouldn't get an error like this one.

Innerspace took me a bit to figure out, and I still haven't tried the broadcasting feature yet, but I love the software. Far far far superior to WinEQ. Thanks Lax.
