Problems with the "instance" just gone when alt-ta

Post by Asmodeus » Tue Mar 17, 2009 10:38 pm

For WinEQ 2.0:
- Please explain which GAME you are having trouble with
- Whether your game runs or not, SYSINFO.TXT from your WinEQ 2.0 folder has the information about your system that we absolutely need in order to answer most questions or solve most problems. This can also be opened by opening the game window's context menu and selecting "Generate System Info", if your game runs.
Well.. This is weird for me.. When I start to zone, but before it opens the screen where it shows Zeb on it and the yellow lame loading stuff.. If I alt-tab during this time, I can crash that instance of EQ 4 out of 5 times. This is annoying as I like to browse the internet or do an e-mail when I zone....now I'm having to wait until atleast that yellow loading is up. By that time, it's like 10 seconds until I zone back in. lol

Any help would be appreciated!

Here's my SysInfo stuff.

Try checking to make sure that the game itself is in Windowed rather than Full Screen mode. This is something that WinEQ 2 generally will ensure, but I may have to review the code that does it.

Is there an EQClient.ini setting for this?

In the game, in Alt-O, it now shows "Switch to Fullscreen" ----but sometimes the settings never stick. lol

Search for WindowedMode and make sure it's set to "true"

WindowedMode=TRUE

Yup.. it's there.

Thanks.

I'll let ya know how it goes, but so far it looks promising. It's not crashed yet. So....You may want to look at your code if it was supposed to always put ya in windowed mode. :D

Seemed to help considerably...but I just crashed it again. This time I was zoning, and I closed out my copy of Outlook that was running.. The EQ window and Outlook both exited out. Not sure if that's part of the same thing? or something just funky?
