Unable to assign hotkey for EQ1

Post by Barehanded » Sun Sep 07, 2008 5:54 pm

I posted with no response in the "lite" forum. I will be as clear as possible here because it seems like a few people actually respond here.

My issue is with the EQ1 portion of WinEQ2.

The preferences to which I refer are found by right-clicking the WinEQ2 icon, options tab, & clicking preferences. The preferences menu appears. Click the EverQuest tab, click the sub-tab labeled Hotkeys.

There seems to be a change in the "Key Name List" portion of the "hotkeys" tab. You can now only set "L button" "R button" "X button 1" "X button2" & "M button" as possible hotkeys. These seem like buttons on a controller one would plug into a USB port or something similar. I attempted to set those letters on the keyboard as hotkeys to no avail. I also attempted to set different keys to hotkeys in the .ini file also to no avail. In fact, the program has even deleted the "ctrl" & "alt" out of the global hotkeys section because those are not "valid" keys either. I do not own nor have installed any controllers. So, WinEQ would not be picking up any indication that I ever used a controller instead of a keyboard.

I have no window hotkeys & am having to use the mouse to switch between windows. This causes my chat window to get a cursor in it & I cannot get in game "hot button" commands to work until I enter out the cursor in the chat window. Please help me correct this matter so I can switch windows without the mouse once more! Or, even just replies saying "i am not having this issue" or "i have this problem too" in order to help me see if I am alone in this problem. Thank you!
