eqgame.exe launches and does nothing

Post by rolean » Tue Apr 08, 2008 8:51 pm

I've just upgraded to winEQ 2.0 pro, and ever since I've been having trouble loading EQ1. I launch the game on my default profile and loading cursor comes up but EQ doesn't launch. If you open the task manager, you can see that eqgame.exe is launched and then it disappears from the processes. Any ideas?

Sounds like something is causing EQ1 to shut itself down. I'm unaware of a reason why it would perform differently at that stage with Pro versus Lite -- and you could test the difference by registering a separate account with a different email address and seeing what happens when you switch WinEQ 2 to use that account (select "Lavish Login" from the WinEQ 2 menu, enter new credentials, restart WinEQ 2). My gut feeling is that it's not going to do anything different.

I would start by closing any other running programs to see if one might be interfering, and scanning for viruses and spyware.
