New install not patching, no game options

I just upgraded my system to Vista, re-downloaded WinEQ... and it isn't working properly - when I run it, it pops up an error message - Could not successfully retreive new file Lavishpatcher.exe. Aborting patch. You may continue to use the software. The WinEQ icon then shows up in the quicklaunch bar, shows that I'm logged in, but it doesn't have options to run any of the games from it... also, it isn't generating a sysinfo.txt file to attach.

On Vista, right click on the installer and select "Run as Administrator". Once installed, right click on the shortcut on the desktop and select "Run as Administrator".

Vista does not like applications that patch themselves and blocks the update process.
