Memory text appearing inside game graphics

Post by jmarlin » Tue Feb 05, 2008 6:56 pm

I am running WinEQ2 on Vista 64 bit.

Last night I had a very strange error occurring.

In everquest, the Asylum of Anguish zone, I was getting text appearing in the sky along the Horizon. The text was backward and upside down and read " System RAM Available:" it was definitely displaying as part of the graphics and not overlayed.

This is the text from the WinEQ memory manager display being echoed into one of the video memory blocks, I assume. The text was the same as what was displayed by the memory indicator, and when I turned the memory indicator text off, the text in the horizon graphics dissapeard on the next update.

Well, your analysis isn't entirely correct as far as how it's happening, but I know what the issue is and can solve the problem when I get some time. It's not really going to hurt anything other than noticing the text repeated in the sky. I imagine that disabling complex sky will probably prevent this from happening if you're worried about it in the meantime. As it's not critical, this may not get fixed right away, so I apologize for that.
