WinEQ2 and the Everquest Expansion, SoF

Post by eolewis » Tue Nov 13, 2007 9:13 pm

I have tried to log into EQ-1 with Wineq2 and the patcher turned off, however, at the server select screen, it says log in servers are down. The only work-around for this that I have found is to have Wineq2 run the patcher on start-up. Anyone else have this same problem or a way around not having to use the patcher?

Same Problem here. I can login no problem via the normal EQ1 method, but when I try logging in via WinEQ2Pro I get the following message;

The Login Server is Currently Not Allowing Connections. This is most likely due to a server patch that currently is in progress. Please Try Again Later.

This message persists at 1844 hrs and the servers have been up for over 1 hr now. Not sure whats up but I thought I would pass the specific info on.

I also am having this problem, I cannot run EQ thru the method that skips the patcher. This also makes it to where i have to re-type every characters name in for login. It also seems to not load the same exact settings as I have stored for each profile i made when it loads thru the launchpad also, because different display things are on/off compared to my eqclients that i have loaded when patcher is skipped.

I dont think its a problem with WinEQ, I tried to use an old shortcut to eqgame patchme that used to bypass the patcher as well and get the same message that the server is not allowing connections, I am wondering if they disable this form of logon...

I had the same problem.

Based on what I read here, I turned on patch in the options and now I can use WinEQ2 again.

I sure hope we're not stuck using the patch feature from now on. :(

I've just encountered this problem as well and it's a day after the new expansion launch. I haven't tried using the launch thru WinEQ, but I am able to get on EQ1 the old fasioned way wich stinks when you 3box lol. Will try running patch thru WinEQ.

Same problem here and when I run wineq through the patcher wineq isn't running. I minimized the window and have the EQ icon not the wineq icon showing.

Caecil, your fix works for me. Just turning on the patcher option allowed me to get WinEQ2 back up and running. Thank you for posting this help.

Until this gets fixed by Lax, its completely workable, just a bit longer to log in.

Go Figure,

After revisiting this thread, Ive now turned patcher back off and can play EQ1 no problem again.

Im wondering if something was reset when I turned the patcher on and then off in WinEQ2Pro. . .

Either way (and for now) everything seems to run normally again.

problem i have is loading up more than 2 instances now.....i used to load 1 instance regularly then i could load up to 4 more instnaces on same box with wineq, now if i try to load a 3rd instance i get can not detect 3d device error not enough memory and it shuts down any instance after the 2nd.

i 2 box regularly and load in other accounts to handle buffing when we are missing something from a group.......now i can not do this.

hope lax finds a fix soon because this seriously downgrades my gaming time.
