Before the most recent patch, all was fine. Since the patch, I can successfully launch Everquest outside of WinEQ. When launched within WinEQ however, when it appears that the character select screen is about to pop, I receive "You Have Been Disconnected" and am returned to the server select screen.
I have a separate installation on another system that works just fine *sigh*.
I've done a full scan, I've deleted WinEQ profiles (so they would be re-built), all with no effect. I didn't post lots of gory details because I'm thinking there must be an obvious direction to search out (video mode in game? UI? (I am using the default UI)).
I would really love to get some direction here because WinEQ makes Everquest playable for me.
Getting bounced from Everquest character select

The only thing that comes to mind is that you must have 2 EQ installations, and have the Patch option off in your WinEQ profile(s). That disconnection issue will always happen if you launch the game without patching, and try to advance past server select. The easiest way to solve it is to enable the Patch option temporarily.
You can also take a look at the shortcut that runs EQ when you launch it without WinEQ (right click it and select properties), and make sure that its path matches the path in your WinEQ profile.
Let me know if this helps

You da Man!
That was the problem. Somehow, the shortcut was pointing to Sony\Everquest\backup, while WinEQ was still pointing toSony\Everquest. I'm back in business.
Thanks for the insight!
