Reading the Sony Station Launcher FAQ page I find
Do I have to use the Station Launcher?
Yes. To play your Station game you must enter the game through the Station Launcher; it must be installed on your PC in order for you to play and/or download any game. The Station Launcher automatically verifies that you are a licensed entitled user of your purchased Station game and/or subscription plan. During the Public Beta you can launch your games with either Station Launcher or the older, game-specific LaunchPads. After the Public Beta is over, Station Launcher will be the only way to launch Station Games. Please use the Feedback button on the Game Select Screen of the Station Launcher or go directly to the Station Launcher forums to tell us what you think!
Is/Will WinEQ2 Pro be modified to work with this now required way to enter EQ?
I really do not want to renew if the program will not work because of the Launch Pad, which can come out most any time now.

Err... WinEQ 2 was modified to work with the launcher the week it came out, and if you enable the Patch option in your WinEQ 2 profile, this is how it gets launched. Am I missing something else?

The Station Launcher
http://launcher.station.sony.com/index.vm not the game specific LaunchPad. The LaunchPad is an intermediate step to the Station Launcher. And a not so helpfull Station Launcer Fact Sheet
http://www.soepress.com/product.asp?s=51
In the quoted FAQ item it states
During the Public Beta you can launch your games with either Station Launcher or the older, game-specific LaunchPads. After the Public Beta is over, Station Launcher will be the only way to launch Station Games.
Nor does it state any difference between a Station Access account or a single product account. It reads that
all SoE Station games will have to use the Station Launcher and EQ is a Station game.

OOPs forgot this
I like WinEQ2 Pro, I'm willing to pay for it. The switching to and from windowed mode is much better than anything Sony has done, this feature alone is worth paying a reasonable price.
