Possible conflict between WinEQ2 and IE7 on Vista x64

Post by silphi » Tue Aug 14, 2007 6:11 pm

When WinEQ2 Pro is running, I can only start new instances of IE7 on Windows Vista Ultimate (64 bit) when I run IE7 as Administrator. I get a window that informs me that "Internet Explorer has stopped working." As soon as I kill WinEQ2, I can launch IE7 regularly again.

Current IE7 sessions don't appear to be affected when I start WinEQ2 Pro. This occurs regardless of whether WinEQ2 is started regularly or run as Administrator.

I just installed Vista last night so I'm not an expert with that OS by any stretch of the imagination. Since there's a simple workaround this isn't really life shattering. However, any insight into this issue would be appreciated.

Known issue, can run IE7 "as admin" if needed.

This issue doesn't happen with IE8b2 on Vista.
