EQ1- Can see the UI, nothing else!

Post by Affiniti » Sun Mar 11, 2007 10:37 am

I've done a couple searches, and seen quite a few people with the "black screen" issue ... but as of yet, I haven't seen a resolution!!

Here's the steps I follow:
- Load WinEQ (v2.14)
- Select first account (which plays in windowed mode)
- Login to the game

I don't even have a chance to start up my 2nd account, the first one black-screens as soon as I get to the character select.

However, it's not a FULL black screen ... I can see all the buttons to select my characters ... I can load any of the characters ... but once I'm in-game I have the same problem- black screen with JUST the User Interface visible.

Worst part is, this ONLY started happening when I finally decided to pay for Pro this morning ... it was working FINE 5 minutes beforehand, when I was using the Free WinEQ.

Is there a SOLUTION to this problem that I haven't seen yet?

What you're seeing is EQPlayNice's Rendering Limiting functionality. Your custom settings make it render (1-1) of 1 frames, or, 0 of 1, in both foreground and background. I would recommend reverting the EQPlayNice settings back to the defaults: 40 max in FG, 30 max in backrgound, and rendering set to 1 for foreground with "1 of x", and 30 for background also with "1 of x".
